Our learners have such diverse needs, but all have the same goal, success! Alternative seating helps students with hyperactivity and sensory needs be able to wiggle and move around safely without being a distraction from work. Other tools give them silent ways to meet their other sensory needs such as, foam rollers to quiet pencil tapping, and fidget toys. We are happy to be back in person, but it is hard to hear through those masks! Voice amplifying devices make sure everyone can hear the teachers. These tools help to remove some of the barriers to academic progress for students with special needs. Students with Autism benefit from visual supports such as visual timers and anchor charts. Students who's behavior gets in the way of their learning need something extra to motivate them to work towards, and snacks are the most popular rewards when they reach their goals!
