  • Hundred Chart!

    Funded Dec 6, 2021

    Our 1st and kindergarten students loved jumping from number to number on our giant hundred chart! As kindergarten students learned to count beyond 50, students would stand on a number and have to say it correctly when it was time to do so. First graders used it to skip count by 2s and 5s and 2nd graders looked for patterns on it!

    Because it was so colorful they were so excited to see it! Most of the kindergarteners couldn't believe how "HUGE" it was!

    Because this has been painted in a common space, there are endless possibilities for future use of this amazing resource!”

They will also learn to see patterns in the hundreds chart and they can use it to use strategies such as "counting on/back" as they get into addition and subtraction. Skip counting is also an important skill that can be supported kinesthetically as they "skip" to numbers. There is so much knowledge to gain in something as simple as a hundred chart and constant access to them in their environment is important.

About my class
