The average publication date of our library's nonfiction collection is 2007; with outdated resources, students lack access to accurate information. Modernizing the library's nonfiction collection will allow students to utilize print resources in their research projects. Access to current, high-quality nonfiction books is especially important for students who do not have reliable internet access at home. With an outdated collection, students have to rely on digital resources for the best information. Increasing access to print materials will help to close the achievement gap, because students will be able to use resources at home regardless of their internet access.
