Feed Fourth Graders

I would first like to start by thanking each of your for your very generous donations to my very first Donors Choose project, "Feed Fourth Graders". Your contributions have aided in providing incentives to my scholars for their outstanding work in our computer-based intervention program, Freckle. Before this project was funded, I struggled with motivating my scholars to buy into the program. These snacks have been the answer to this problem. My scholars are very competitive. Once the first group of students earned snacks, no one wanted to be left out and my participation and scores improved drastically.
This project has also allowed me to provide snacks for those students who may miss breakfast or who need a snack before going home in the afternoon.

This classroom project was brought to life by #TeachHealthy with Nature Made and one other donor.

This project has a dual purpose. I want to incentivize my scholars. We have several computer based programs that our school district requires us to use. The programs have many great benefits but the students have not bought into them. They don't utilize them with fidelity thus skewing the data. These treats will allow me to provide incentives to help motivate them to put their best foot forward. Additionally, as I stated previously many of my students are poverty stricken. Sadly, the meals they receive at school for some are the only meals they'll receive for the day. This project will allow me to provide them with snacks that they can eat right before dismissal or at home when if they get hungry.
