It is my honor to have been asked to develop a woodshop class curriculum for 7th and 8th grade students in an educational setting at which a woodshop class has never been available. As a result, I have great dreams but limited resources. A woodshop class is not only an effective outlet for student creativity, but it allows students to see Mathematics in the real world, a cause dear to my heart! I love the idea that I can inspire a new generation of craftsmen and craftswomen who may find themselves looking for ideas and materials to fuel their creativity. As of now, I have secured tools such that a group of 4 can share a set. I would love to increase the supply of hand tools (saws, hammers, chisels, etc.) and expand to smaller power tools. More importantly, however, is a need for raw materials and consumables (wood, fasteners, sandpaper, stains and sealers). My administration and I would greatly appreciate, and our students would benefit immeasurably, from any help that you can offer to make our dream a reality. Thank you in advance for your consideration and generosity.
