Not Every Great Story Needs to Be Made-Up
Funded May 9, 2023My students have loved reading the non-fiction books that we were able to get with your generous donations. These books have really helped them especially as we start working on our biography projects. The books are easy for them to read and include details that are targeted to their age group, so they find them interesting. I have seen an increase in the independent reading time that takes place in the classroom and the students are fascinated to read the real life exploits of some famous people that they had already heard about.”

Funded Mar 15, 2023Thank you for your generous donations. With the gift that you have given we were able to increase interest in the classroom library immensely. I went from no one checking out books from the classroom library to having half the class with books out at a time and having to have a reserved list for certain books because they were so popular.
In addition to this with the money that you donated we were able to purchase a classroom set of two books, "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH" and "Where the Red Fern Grows". With these we were able to conduct a comparison between two versions of a story as we read "Mrs. Frisby" and were then able to watch the movie and compare the two giving a chance to fulfill one of our important CORE standards.”

Classroom Library
Funded Jan 22, 2022Thank you for the generous donation that you made to my classroom. The students have enjoyed the books that you gave us very much. There has been a noticeable increase in the amount of time the students have spent reading in their free time because of the new books.
We even read one of the books together in class and the students were always engaged. We were able to use that book as a springboard to compare and contrast the movie that was based on it and all the students agreed that the book was much better. This was huge because there were very few of these students that were able to compare and contrast at the beginning of the year.
Thank you again for everything that you have given us and thank you for helping these students increase their love of reading.”

Funded Dec 29, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donations. When the students walked into the class and saw the Chill Corner for the first time they were all so excited, they started asking questions immediately. "What are these for?", "Who gets to sit there?", they just couldn't wait for me to explain what the idea was. The students in my classroom love the Chill Corner so much. In fact they enjoy it so much that we have had to set up a rotating schedule for which groups are able to use the Chill Corner at any given day and time. I am so glad that through your donations I was able to give them this small portion of peace and comfort in the classroom that can be so stressful. It is nice for them to have a place that they can simply kick back and relax for a part of the day and not be stuck in the same desk day after day.”
