Students have multiples modalities to take in information. Most of the children I serve use audio and visual methods combined to comprehend text. Many are non-readers. Having headphones will give them another way to access text. We are currently playing the audio books on one speaker. However, this is difficult for many students to concentrate and focus in on reading the text while listening to the audio. Additionally, when students are hungry, they cannot concentrate. I would like to be able to give them something nutritious to start the day!
