Lego League is an amazing program that changes students' lives in more ways than one. Students learn to code, create a way to improve the world, and learn important core values that help them throughout their lives. However, the robots are expensive causing us to only have funding for one robot per team. Having additional robots would allow more students to program and learn. Building and programming a LEGO robot is an experience unlike any other. As students are coding, many times the robot does not perform how they expect it to. Students learn to problem solve, and sometimes even rebuild parts of their robot, in order to make the robot perform the task. It is remarkable to watch students put so much time and energy into getting the program to work correctly. Also, having additional robots would allow us to continue to work with the robots throughout the year. With additional robots, we would be able to do a club or class with those having done Lego League mentoring students interested in doing it in the future. Currently, we do not have enough robots to do a club/class like this.
