Kleenex for the Kids!
Funded Mar 26, 2025Our project got funded, thanks to you!
We all appreciate you so much.
Many noses will be blown. Many tears will be dried.
Most importantly, the students feel loved and supported because their community cares about them and their educations, and shows their support in concrete ways that the kids can see.”

Funded Feb 9, 2025Students are so happy with the snacks that you helped to provide! I love being able to tell kids "Yes!" when they stop by and ask for a snack during the school day, and they love that they always have something here waiting for them.
We are extremely grateful that we live in a community where there are people who care, and are willing to help provide healthy snacks for high school students. It makes them feel valued and cared for, and that is a really special feeling for a kid. Thank you so much for providing for these students - not just a snack, but a sense of belonging to something bigger than they are.
Thanks a lot and best wishes!”

Support Hungry Learners with Some Healthy Snacks!
Funded Oct 14, 2024Thank you so much for contributing to our DonorsChoose project! The kids are delighted every day when they walk in to class and can ask for a snack and get one. They come in hungry and cranky, and once they have their snack, they settle down, ready to learn.
Additionally, they feel cared for. Several students, when I told them where the snacks came from, said, "Do you mean that people we don't even know are donating so we can have snacks? That's so cool!" (Or something similar). They feel so supported, and they feel like part of a community.
The other thing that I really appreciate, is the aspect of creating a caring classroom. I work hard to have my students feel like when they're here, they're part of something. I use their work to decorate. I keep the class super clean and fresh smelling for them. And now, thanks to you, I can offer them a snack when they're here. Thank you so much for contributing to our community.”

Mental Health Project for Hardworking History Students!
Funded Aug 16, 2024Thank you so much for supporting our students! They have been delighted that when they express that they're hungry, there's a snack waiting for them! You wouldn't believe the happiness a granola bar can bring to a high school student! I've even had students coming by who I taught last year, looking for snacks.
Even more importantly, these snacks help make our classroom more of a cohesive community. The students know that their needs will be taken care of here, and that they can focus on learning.
As we delve into further study of U.S. History (our next unit will be the country's beginnings, from the colonies through the Constitution), please know that you have made an entire cohort of kids feel that they're important, and valued, and that they're worth the effort you have made to make them feel like part of a learning community.”
