The Wide World of Science in Literature
Funded Nov 2, 2012Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! Because of your kindness, students have been able to use a variety of science-based literature during daily classroom activities. The students love the books we have received and I find them reading the texts multiple times. The true test of a great book is to have a reader return to read it again, and the students are certainly showing that the texts provided through your funding are worthy reads!
The science connections in the texts have made for wonderful additions to our daily science lessons. Students use the books to support their reasoning on scientific topics and provide examples of science "at work" in various settings. Again, this would not be possible without your generous donations, so we do truly thank you for giving.”

On the Grid: Coordinate Graphing Gurus
Funded Mar 13, 2013Thank you so very much for your generous donation to our classroom. Because of your generosity, students have been actively engaged in using the mathematical tools your donation provided. What fun the students have had working with the coordinate grid paper to create designs and pictures while exploring the coordinate grid system! The large coordinate grid chart has allowed students to explore all four coordinates of the coordinate grid system and increased their understanding of positive and negative integers.
I thank you kindly for giving to this project and helping to make mathematics an engaging and interesting subject for my students!”

Skyping Our Ecological Connections
Funded Jun 12, 2012Thank you so much for your support of our project, "Skyping Our Ecological Connections." We have greatly enjoyed connecting with classrooms around the United States and the world, sharing information about our own ecosystem and learning more about the ecosystems in other places. What a fantastic way for students to experience the wonders of the world around them via a virtual experience!
The web camera has truly been a blessing to our classroom study of ecosystems, as it has allowed us to share and learn from others who live in areas quite unlike our own. We have discovered some wildly entertaining and interesting facts about different areas of the United States, Mexico, Canada, Germany, and Japan. It has been even more exciting to hear the information from other students who were equally eager to learn about our ecosystem.
Thank you again for your support of science education and for your selection of our project. I am truly thankful.”

Environmentally Speaking
Funded Jun 8, 2012Thank you so very much for your generous donation to our project, "Environmentally Speaking." The students have enjoyed reading the novels and completing activities in conjuction with our study of current environmental issues. I feel very blessed that you chose to support this project and provide quality literature for our classroom.
As a good book can spark an interest in any topic, I feel especially fortunate to have received these materials for use in the classroom. After reading about overfishing and ocean pollution, students were inspired to continue researching about this current threat to the welfare of our ocean waters. Many have continued their studies beyond the required clasroom assignments and have indicated interest in learning even more about this topic. I thank you for providing the support to study this topic with my students. Although they are only fifth graders, they can still make a difference in our world with proper education and preparation to become responsible citizens.
Again, I thank you greatly for your support!”

Funded Jun 1, 2012Thank you so very much for your generous donation which allowed for the purchase of books for use in our classroom. Because of your generosity, students will be able to explore the area of economics as never before. By utilizing fictional literature to learn about financial situations, students will be better able to connect with the text and understand the concepts more clearly.
Many of my students do not come from homes where financial situations are discussed on a regular basis; therefore, the economic education they receive must come from the school. I thank you for providing the funds to purchase resources that will enable students to understand these concepts better.”

Funded Apr 12, 2012Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom project! Due to your generosity, students will now have access to a quality pencil sharpener and plenty of pencils to use for classroom activities. As many of my students come to school without required materials, the funding of this project allows me to provide students with the needed materials that so many of them cannot bring due to financial difficulties at home. Your kindness is greatly appreciated and I thank you so much for ensuring that my students have "the write stuff" for school!”

A River Runs Through Our Classroom!
Funded Dec 24, 2011Thank you so very much for your generous donation to our classroom project. As a result of your generosity, students will have the opportunity to learn more about how rivers are formed. This serves as an incredible hands-on learning experience for all students.
As our science classes integrate many different types of experiments and projects, the use of the interactive river system will be a welcome addition to our classroom. This year's students and future students will benefit from the resources, as they become an addition to our study of landforms, erosion, and conservation.
Again, we thank you for your kindness and your dedication to improving education in our schools. Without generous donors such as yourself, our classroom would not have this wonderful resource. Thank you so very much!”

Funded Sep 22, 2011Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom project, "Recycling Round-Up!" The students have greatly enjoyed the materials purchased with your donated funds, as they have increased their understanding and awareness of how beneficial recycling is to our planet.
Using the books and other hands-on learning materials, students have become more aware of promoting recycling efforts school-wide. Several students now work on a weekly basis to gather recyclable materials from each classroom and contribute those materials to recycling bins located outside of our school. We have also worked to increase the number of recycling bins available to students in hallways and the cafeteria to encourage good stewardship among all students.
We do thank you greatly for your donation, as it has increased the educational opportunities available to students. I know that many future students will also benefit from the use of the materials as well. thank you so much for your generosity!”

Feeding Our Minds With Feed USA
Funded Apr 16, 2011Thank you so much for supporting my efforts to instruct my students on healthy eating habits! We are enjoying the use of our Grow Lab in class so very much. The students have started to cultivate our first round of vegetables for this school year and are so very excited! We are looking forward to creating soup with the vegetables we grow.
I thank you for your generosity to my classroom and for supporting this educational effort. My students will certainly benefit from watching the plant growth process and will also enjoy the end result. Many of my students lack proper nutrition at home and this activity allows the opportunity for them to see how plants are produced.
Thank you again for blessing our classroom with your generous gift!”

Funded Mar 2, 2011Thank you so very much for donating to our classroom project "Keep Your Eye on Science." Because of your generosity, students had the opportunity to use digital cameras to record observations during science experiments. These photographs were then used by students to explain steps in experiments as well as outcomes of the experiments. The use of the digital cameras has made students' interest and attention to completing science experiments soar!
We have enjoyed using the digital cameras greatly and, as the cameras are not consumable, future classes of students will be able to use the materials as well. We are so very thankful for kind and generous individuals who will help to fund projects that will purchase materials we need for our classroom. What a blessing you have been to our school!
Once again, thank you so much for your donation. Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated!”
