Spreading Kindness Like Confetti!
Funded Nov 4, 2022You are OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! People like you are how we are able to carry out our random acts of kindness, create inclusive opportunities, and allow us to do the best work we can do! We appreciate you more than our words can ever express. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for being the change.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Austin
Our Room Can Change the World!
Funded Feb 9, 2022I would like to take the time to thank you extensively for your kindness and warmth you extended into our classroom for the 2021-2022 school year. As previously mentioned, we are the class at the end of the hall who always seemed to be overlooked, stigmatized, and not included.
With your help we were able to help eliminate stigma that often lingers alongside self-contained classrooms. A huge shout out goes to our coffee cart! Not only was this section of the classroom set aside for pre-vocational/vocational skills it also allowed teachers and staff to enter our classroom and learn alongside us. Room 105 loved the cart so much. We were able to utilize the funds raised for more sensory stimulating activities, pre-vocational/vocational activities, and enhance our learning experiences even more!
The TPT gift cards have allowed me to reduce my outside of class work by a minimum of 35 hours a week. I cannot express the gratitude Room 105 has for each of their donors. The gift cards have truly allowed us to purchase more online learning opportunities such as Boom Cards. This site, for our room, provided learning outside and inside of the classroom. We were able to use Kindness bucks for any work that was completed outside of school hours! The students were then able to purchase something from the class store. This motivated them as I watched their potential soar and behaviors drastically decrease! These gift cards also helped to begin to assess where my students are vocational wise. This helped with locating potential future careers for my students—one even wanted to become a barista! We cannot express the opportunities that each donor has permitted us to enhance our social skills in—OUR DONORS ARE THE CHANGE!!! Thank you for believing in us!
Room 105 changed the world this year—with your help! We partook in numerous food drives for homeless families, created reusable bags with supplies needed for our most vulnerable families, and learned how to SPREAD KINDNESS LIKE CONFETTI!!!
We took an oath to pay it forward and we did. We changed the perspective of at least one teacher and staff during the school year. Room 105 was able to see exactly how loved, valued, and appreciated they are all around the world. So, from the bottom of our hearts we'd like to say, "Thank you to our supporters! Keep being the change!"”
With gratitude,
Ms. Austin
