  • My Goal This Year is to Build a Class Library

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

    Many students expressed that they do not engage in leisure reading due to limited choices in reading materials. To provide students with more agency over their reading, I dedicated my 2021-2022 school year to building a library with reading materials that represents the students' interests. Students were included in the book selection process. They discussed and listed book titles and genres that piqued their curiosity. Through your generous donations, I was able to build a library that holds over 500 books. Students are enamored with the library and the number of books signed out by the students has completely surpassed my expectations! Thank you again for your donation and for bringing this valuable opportunity to my students.”

  • Color Printer for Special Education Students

    Funded May 4, 2022

    Thank you so much for your generous donations! I am overjoyed that the students will be able to have access to therapy materials printed in color in the speech therapy room. This will allow us to create more engaginng sessions and the students will be able to print their projects that they work so hard on. Once again thank you for your help bringing my vison to life.”

Since we do not have a librarian on staff, my students have limited opportunities to find books that interest them. By creating a class library I want to foster a love for reading and encourage my students to improve their reading abilities. We currently are in need of furniture to help us build our library. A bench, bookcase, and round table will allow us to make an inviting space for the students where they can explore book that interest them as well as provide them with a comforting environment to hangout in.

About my class
