  • Tools to Grow Young Learners

    Funded Dec 30, 2021

First and foremost I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for funding this project for my students. With being a new and young teacher I am still trying to figure out what works best for my students in the classroom. All the amazing resources have been being used almost everyday in our classroom and has made learning fun, engaging, and interesting for all students. I love to see how eager the students are for independent reading time to read all the books that were donated, they LOVE to play math games during math centers with the cards donated, and may I just say they are OBSESSED with the bean bag. Having this one piece of flexible seating in my classroom has actually inspired me to launch another project focused on more flexible seating options. I have noticed how it can help relax children when feeling overwhelm and they need a break, how it can help students focus more on their work and reduce stress, and how it has brought our classroom together and has really help create a safe learning environment. I am not only so thankful for this project getting funded but my students are. Having these amazing resources has made a huge difference in my students learning and I am forever grateful for the donors that chose my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kieselback

The resources I have chosen would be very beneficial in my classroom. With having 29 students I have a wide range of skills and differentiated instruction to meet my students needs is a must! The math tools selected would help my students with number identification, number sequencing, and building confidence with their math problem skills. With different ways all students would be able to use these resources and tools when learning in the classroom. As for the books selected I have noticed my students LOVE story time and reading independently. I would love to build my classroom library and provide more multi culture books in Spanish for my ELL students. Lastly with the pandemic and students not being in classroom close to a year I have noticed a lot of social and emotional struggles in the classroom. This year so far has been so amazing but also very overwhelming and stressful for not only teachers but also the students. I want to create a "take a break" area for my students in classroom for when they need to take a break and relax. I feel the bean bag would be awesome for this area for the students to reflect and relax and maybe read a book or draw a picture! Again thank you for your support and I know my students will be very thankful too!
