Many of my students are identifying phonemes and decoding CVC words. More practice at school and home will make for greater progress. With the requested activities, students will identify letter sounds, read a book with CVC words, then identify words and spell them. Students will use words learned in simple sentences. Earlier learners will identify letter sounds and picture word cards that make the sound based on a story read-aloud. For greater independence students need repetition and these materials will take them a long way. Students will also use letter play-doh mats for sensory learning and to form the letters. Sensory toys will also benefit students with special needs with breaks, overwhelming feelings, and relaxation. Magnetic letters, books with phonemes, and writing will be beneficial to make copies for learning at home. For math students are identifying coins by name and value. A cash register allows students to make transactions, gives them hands-on experience, and makes learning engaging. These materials will benefit my students with visual and hands-on support. The cozy loungers motivate students to read more in the reading area independently with age-appropriate books.
