Many times kids do not like to be told what to do and how to do something when the majority of their learning time is in the same environment. Every day is the same schedule which is great, but sometimes students can get bored or easily distracted which is why the materials I chose are specifically for the outdoors. Given the new environment and new materials provided, the students won't feel like they are doing work because these new materials are different from their everyday schedules. It will be easier for them to apply what they are learning or what they already know with these materials because it is not going to feel like work, it is going to be more fun! These outdoor materials will play many roles when it comes to being more engaged in an activity and the application of what they have learned. The students will be able to choose an activity that is more physical or creative! Some of my students are more creative than others which is why I have some materials where they can use colors and numbers to build something they want. I also have students that are able to focus more when they have let the majority of their energy out when it is time for recess which is why I have put in some materials that are more physical, but still fun! My students already have a great time outdoors, my project would only enhance the great time my students have.
