I am an elementary special education teacher in a small Alaskan village. When some of my students become overwhelmed with their school environment, we have the option to walk the halls or visit the gym in order to refocus. Our dream is to create a calm-down room with magnetic tiles, sensory pod, lap blanket, play bins, stress toys, and other sensory materials available to any student who needs a safe space to relax, take a break, and recharge until ready to return to their typical learning environment. Please consider how your donation can make a difference for these kids! We want this to be a fun place that serves an important purpose.
