Classroom Library to Experience New Worlds

Funded Mar 14, 2022

I am so very thankful for the books my classroom received due to your donations. You have given my students an opportunity to read interesting stories that reflect who they or who they may become but

also stories that let them slip away into another reality that is not as harsh as theirs. My students are able to check out these books, and when they turn them back in, we have discussions about what they have read. They even encourage others to read the books they turn in. It is awesome to see them so engaged, growing, and learning, which would not be possible without you.

Some of the books, the students had read in the past especially certain series, and they were able to pick up where they left off or just re-read

it for fun. Other students had epiphanies. They did not realize that other people felt the same way they do or face the same struggles even

though their backgrounds might not be the same. These books are more than just ways for students to improve their reading, but for many they are a gateway into understanding themselves better and the world around them.

Your donations not only started my classroom library, but it inspired those around me to donate. I was gifted books from other English teachers at my school, who had books in boxes just lying on the floor because their shelves were already full. Everyone was under the impression that all ELA classrooms had a class library. They did not

realize that I was without. Thank you so so much for your donations. The impact is deep and wide, and I can't thank you enough.”

With gratitude,

Mr. Robinson
