Taking Imagination to the Limit
Funded Jan 18, 2024Thank you so much for your donations to my cause. The children LOVED our new materials. When the children first saw the materials they were ecstatic. Some even realized some foods from our new food baskets were similar to their own.
The children first began to use the new materials during our Building Study. Having a few construction worker uniforms and hard-hats allowed more than one child to immerse themselves as construction workers working on a building. The new food baskets gave the children an opportunity to host pretend eating sessions and run supermarkets and restaurants with more choices. The ethnic dolls gave children an opportunity to play parent/teacher/grown-up and help children from different backgrounds learn and grow. It was an amazing thing to experience. The children are very happy!
Our next step is to continue using DonorsChoose to help us grow our classroom. There is much more needed and we are thankful for donors like you who have made our dreams a reality!”

Funded Dec 6, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity. It is wonderful to know that there are still people out there who care for our children's education. The children were very excited to see our new materials. As soon as the new materials were unveiled, they gravitated it very quickly. I'm so glad to have donors like you who make this happen.
The children have used the materials in a variety of ways. They quickly took the bug specimens and magnifying viewers and explored the insects. They used the magnetic board and were amazed how different objects made of different materials reacted with the magnets. We practiced mouth hygiene using the big teeth and toothbrush.
My little scientists are very curious and many of the upcoming explorations will involve our new materials. We will be exploring insects and use our magnifying viewers and microscopes to explore butterfly chrysalis. We will use the bug specimens to view differences between insects and arachnids.
It will be a wonderful year because of donors like you!”

Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you so much for donating to this project. Math is such an important aspect in life and you have given the children a chance to excel at it at such a young age. The children have not been able to put down the new materials. They have used the magnetic numbers on our magnetic boards, they have practiced their gross and fine motor skills with the lacing animals and dressing vests, jumped around and made patterns with our activity shape mats, measured together using the big tape measures and weighed using our two new scales. This project (like all the others) was a massive success. Thank you for your generosity.”

Funded Sep 19, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity. It means so much to me and my classroom that you were able to give to this project. The children are having a great time using the carpet. They sit on it during our meeting time, build on it, and play on it. They were very excited to see that we had a new place to sit.
One of the first things we have done on the carpet was have morning meeting. The children were very excited to sit on our new carpet and they eagerly awaited their names to be called to our newly decorated meeting area. They were more attentive and more eager to learn.
We are excited about the different journey's and quest's we will have on this carpet. You are all very special to us!”

Funded Jan 6, 2022Reading is an important part of our lives. We read for information and enjoyment. Children use books for the same reasons but many do not yet conventionally read. In my 3K classroom we teach children that pictures can help them tell stories. Using the pictures in a book, they can "read" stories and visit different worlds in their own homes and classrooms. Having books in homes also encourage family members to bond with their children through reading. By donating appropriate books to them, they are better able to share meaningful reading time with them.
One of the most used centers in my classroom is the library center. Children use many different books to read stories and find information. The big books and board books are very popular. They enjoy looking at familiar stories (The Three Little Pigs, The Little Red Hen, etc.) and retelling the stories to their peers and teachers using the pictures in the pages.
The children are enjoying their books very much. Some even bring their books to school. Jhonciel and Melanie are two children who have been reading books every night. They truly enjoy what you have donated to them.
The children of 3K1 are very appreciative of what you have given them.”

Mr. Ramos
