Help Us Get Junie B. Jones Books for our Library!
Funded Aug 31, 2023My first and second graders are thrilled to have brand new Junie B. Jones books in our school library. The ones we had prior to your donation were old and in terrible condition. The new books have updated, attractive covers that appeal to today's students. They enjoy the Junie B. Jones books even in the older grades as well.
I love seeing a student's eyes light up when I tell them that they are the first person to borrow a brand new book. It truly makes their day. There are many students who do not have books in their home, so that makes it even more special.
Thank you for donating the entire collection of Junie B. Jones books to our school library. Reading is an essential life skill, and the Junie B. Jones books have helped to create a love of reading and learning.
Because the books are in the school library, they will continue to be enjoyed by hundreds, and even thousands, of students in the years to come. Thank you for making our literacy dreams come true!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Keller
This classroom project was brought to life by LOFT.Help My Students Laugh Out Loud With Mo Willems Books!
Funded Apr 25, 2023Thank you for donating the complete sets of Elephant and Piggie and Pigeon books to our school library. Those books are very popular with my students, and they are always checked out of the library. Because they are constantly being borrowed, the ones we previously owned were in very bad condition simply due to frequent use.
My students were thrilled to see brand new copies of the books. They were immediately borrowed. The children were especially excited when they were told that they were the first person to check out a book. It just makes it extra special for them.
Students in all grades really enjoy reading these books. Some of the fourth and fifth grade classes are paired up with classes in the lower grades to act as reading buddies. Whenever the older students are looking for something to read to their reading buddy, I suggest that they choose a picture book that they personally enjoyed reading. They will often pick one of Mo Willems books! Thank you for making the reading dreams of my students come true!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Keller
There Is Nothing Like the Joy of a New Marker!
Funded Mar 4, 2022My students were thrilled when they found out that we now had new markers in the school library! They were so happy to be able to have vibrant and colorful markers to use for their art work. By the time the school year is three quarters over the markers that were purchased in September are in pretty sad shape. Most of them are dried out, especially the red, purple and black ones. I cannot tell you how happy the students were when they grabbed a marker basket to color and realized that they had all of the colors to use, and none of them were dried out! It sounds like such a little thing, but it really is a big deal to children. Despite the prevalence of technology, people still really enjoy writing and drawing. It is a great way to destress and the students really benefited from having wonderful, colorful new markers. On behalf of five hundred students I say thank you so much for helping the school! Additionally, the boxes of markers will most certainly be used during the next school year, so yet another group of students will benefit!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Keller
