We have workstations that students rotate to on a daily basis. Each one is different and targets different areas. Such as, math, language, reading and fine motor. I encourage my students to pretend play. Pretend play gives them the opportunity to imitate real life situations. They can play the role of a parent at home or a chef. They can use their imaginations to create new dishes, plan and serve a meal. The play kitchen selected for my class will provide many benefits to the students. Pretend Play encourages imagination, creativity, language, communication, social skills, team work and life skills. It also promotes planning, problem-solving, independence and visual recognition.
