Funded Dec 3, 2021We cannot express our gratitude nearly enough for all of your generous donations that funded our most recent project!
As mentioned in our letter - our students at PS 207 are working on executive functions skills. "Executive function and self-regulation skills are the mental processes that enable us to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks successfully." Harvard.edu. One of the many ways we are trying to enforce Executive Functioning skills is having color coded subjects as well graphic organizers. The supplies we were able to order made it possible for us to reinforce these skills that help students to remain organized, focused and self-regulated.
Our students were thrilled and delighted at the sight of all the bright and colorful paper that we recieved! Right away they were able to make connections with paper color and how it can be subject coordianted. We have also used this papar during group work and for graphic organizers. The ink that has come along with this project has enabled us to print organizers on the spot which keeps our students anchored and moving fluently throughut their day. We have also used the colorful paper to design bright bulletin boards and supply in class art projects. These art projects help with fine motor skills that may have been weakened during the pandemic.
We cannot wait to build another project to help motivate not only our students but ourselves in terms of being creative when it comes to creating lessons and projects within our classroom. Thank you for opening a new world of possibilites - we are extremely grateful.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Gibbons
