  • Positive Incentives and Essentials

    Funded Mar 29, 2025

Thank you so much for supporting this schoolwide incentive. Many students will benefit from this and be motivated to continue working hard. Thank you for believing in our students and providing a space where they can be celebrated for doing the right thing as well as motivating others to meet those goals.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lopez

  • Fluency and Coding Experience

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Students use flashcards to become fluent with multiplication. These have been available in the mornings and during centers. Students like to make use of their time in the mornings. Students also have had coding experience in prior years and/or with our media resource teacher (librarian). Students have been using online technology to code since we did not have physical devices to code with. With the holidays coming up we have students checking out before break and this has been a great way to catch students attention and still participate until the break. Thank you for providing my students will technology that prepares them for the future.”

  • Basic Hygiene Needs

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

I am so grateful for the support on personal hygiene. My students actually keep their deodorant in their backpack and some ask me to use the restroom after recess to apply some and keep up with their personal hygiene. I also have two students that often request to brush their teeth after lunch. I find it admirable their dedication and concern for their hygiene. Every student received their personalized pack some even stated it will be their travel kit, while others said they wanted it in their backpacks for daily use. My students were so excited they helped me pack and sort. Some placed their name on their kit with permanent marker.”

  • Fourth Grade Recess

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Our students have been able to have a variety of social skills, choices to play with, and problem solved during recess. Other class students often ask me if they can play with our recess items. We take them out daily and have increased students participation. I recently got a new students that refused to play with anybody because he did know anyone and did not want to get "sweaty" when I expressed that I did not mind if he got sweaty he thought about it. After a week he saw the other students loved to play soccer and we had multiple soccer balls he finally joined the rest and has enjoyed himself during recess ever since.”

  • Plant More, Grow More

    Funded Jul 23, 2024

Students have been planting more seeds and plants around our school since we've been supplied with more garden tools. Our plans will survive specially since we have planting pots and a raised bed where they will be distinguished and not cut down. Students have their own gloves and shovels as we clear out an area to plant milkweed seeds. This area at school is known as the butterfly garden. One of our maintenance guys finally opened up the key, so the water can run through the hose. We are excited to keep our garden alive and well nourished with our compost as well as accessible water. We hope to get our rain barrel collecting system up and running so we can continue using the hose.”

I am currently getting a masters in STEM+C (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Computational thinking) and these beebots are ways to incorporate all subjects though computational thinking. It is thinking like a robot, using the breaking down of steps (decomposing through algorithms) that help with critical thinking later on. Coding is for everyone! Currently its middle school and higher that get exposed to coding. Primary grades are as capable of coding, so why not allow they to be challenged and see learning in a new fun way? I am so excited to get this started with my students. My future engineers!
