  • Hands On Play-Based Learning

    Funded Nov 10, 2023

Thank you very much for your generous donations. My students have enjoyed all of the new toys and hands-on manipulatives I was able to purchase.

We use hands on manipulatives every day during reading and math. This allows my students to get a more concrete, tactile understanding of the concepts we are covering.

Every Thursday we do play-based learning in the afternoon. During this time they are learning to share, compromise and strengthen their imaginations. It is so cute to listen to them play!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. WindRiver

  • Moving to Kindergarten!

    Funded Jun 30, 2023

We greatly appreciate all of your support in funding this project. My students have a lot of energy and will enjoy the flexible seating options. Further, we will use the alphabet and phonics resources to strengthen our foundations and become avid readers. Our classroom is monster themed, so our Monster book on emotions will be very relatable as we learn to acknowledge our emotions and work through them appropriately. In addition, we are working hard to create a classroom where each student feels important. We will use our star student posters to highlight students each week and share what makes each student special. Thank you again for your donations!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. WindRiver

  • Hands on With Project Based Learning

    Funded Nov 20, 2021

Thank you for supporting our Project Based Learning (PBL). This gives our class an opportunity to learn a variety of science and social studies lessons through inquiry and hand-on learning experiences.

We used a lot of our supplies to create animals in our adaptations project. Students studied adaptations of animals in each climate. They then created an ultimate survivor for that particular habitat. They used adaptations from a variety of animals to create a new unique animal.

My students had a great time exploring, designing, and building their animals. They were excited about this project, and loved sharing it with others.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. WindRiver

The requested resources will be used both in reading and in science/social studies Project Based Learning (PBL). We will use the Scholastic News to better understand non-fiction text standards and address various science and social studies standards. The Scholastic News can be done digitally in the event of a COVID related learning need, such as distance learning. Further, the supplies in this project will be used during PBL. Students will create hands-on projects through inquiry learning. Some projects we will use these supplies for include, but are not limited to, adaptations, space, forces and motion, and art.
