Any help is appreciated for my students to become successful this year! The items I have selected will make a huge impact on the students in my classroom by keeping them focused while they learn. The wiggle chairs will be used during our 20 minutes of guided reading time. During this time, we will be working on letters/letter sounds, sight words, guided reading strategies, and reading new stories. This time can become a little overwhelming for the students, so giving them a chance to burn off some of their anxiety or built-up energy will help them become more successful. Sit cushions will be used during our STEM time or when a student needs to move around. Our carpet areas were taken away because of COVID and these cushions are a perfect replacement for my students to use when working on the concrete floor. Fidget bands will be placed on all the chairs in the classroom. These bands will help keep the students focused during whole group learning. During this time many students have a hard time sitting still and focusing on the lesson. With these fidget bands, students can bounce, twist, and pull to reduce their boredom while learning. Fidget Pop Its will be used during our math lessons to keep it hands-on, allowing them to focus on their work. Many students are still struggling to identify numbers and retain them. I plan to write the numbers 1 -100 on their Pop It so they can follow along by popping their numbers down as they add and subtract.
