Game Day
Funded Jan 23, 2023First of all my students were so excited to see all the packages come. They were so excited opening them. We plan on using all the games for them to use their higher level thinking skills and to think of strategies to use. One of my students weaknesses is they do not want think outside the box. This will help us work on that.
As they were opening the boxes the students said "Miss, you are going to let us play games during class?" That statement made me feel good because they think they are just playing and having fun, but I will be guiding them to learn how to strategize and think.
I feel students learn better when they are having fun!! Thank you so much for letting me be able to let my students have fun while learning!! We are going to have a "Game Day" twice a month.”

Funded Dec 21, 2022The items we received have made things so much easier in the classroom. Students are motivated by the items and enjoy using them. It is keeping them focused on task. One student has a very difficult time paying attention. He will talk out and interrupt others. Whem he uses the under desk bike it seems to calm him and makes a better learning environment for everyone.
The day the boxes arrivesd it seemed like Christmas. My students always get so excited. When they open the boxes I always ask them what they think we are going to use it for.
My students are now allowed to use pen for math since the pens are erasable. The students really enjoyed them. They can't wait to complete their work in ink!”

Funded Nov 22, 2022We cannot thank you enough. We were all so excited to receive the boxes. The students and I opened them together. They could not wait to open them. The materials we received will help us keep organized, encourage and reward the students and keep us focused.
The zipper pouch mesh bags and the hanging chart will keep the student's materials organized. The binders and storage pouches will help to keep classroom materials organized. When they are organized there is less class time wasted.
I cannot wait to hang up the inspirational posters to help encourage my students and reward them with the stickers. The under the desk bicycle will help my students who have some excess energy, burn it off, while still paying attention in class.
These materials will continue to help my students with their learning throughout the year. I really cannot thank you enough! And the tissues have come in handy. We need them all year around!!!”

M's Manipulatives
Funded Nov 29, 2022When I came into school there were a whole bunch of boxes waiting for me. I was so excited. The students were so excited too. I had them help me open them and I forgot to take pictures of the packages being opened because we were all so excited to be getting the materials for our class. The students couldn't believe that people we didn't know actually helped pay for things to help them learn. I am so grateful for that too. I really cannot thank you enough.
The students have been using the materials and are having fun while learning the concepts. Having a wide variety of materials for the student to use to practice learning their skills hands on is so awesome. They have been using the straws and craft sticks for place value. They will wrap them in groups of 100's, 10's and 1's. We started keeping track of the number of days we are in school with them. Place value has been a tough concept to learn, but with having these materials the students are excited to learn. The dice and playing cards are used to help them practice greater than and less than. Dominoes, Connect 4 and Jenga are making them think. They are real Mostly because they want to win, but I'm ok with that since they are having fun while they are learning!!”

Funded Dec 15, 2021When the packages arrived, the students kept asking what we receiced. I told them that there were nice people in this world that helped us fund a project so we would be able to cook in class.
Every Friday the students make something. They use the oven and all of the cooking/baking utensils to do this. It is a weekly project we complete. We find a recipe that relates to the math topic we are going over surimg that week.
The latest we made was Pigs in a blanket. The kids used crescent rolls, hotdogs and cheese. They really enjoyed it making it and eating it.
We will be making Easter cookies next week.
This has been such a great addition to our classroom. The students really have been learning a lot and have an extra snack to eat too!”
