  • Letters for Little Learners

    Funded Aug 19, 2022

THANK YOU so much for making a difference in my life, as well as the lives of my students. We LOVE receiving new and exciting items to learn with! The students really just think that they are playing but they are learning such important and significant skills that they will build upon for the ENTIRETY of their lives!

We learn and focus on one new letter a week! The letter pocket chart, the tactile letter tracing cards, and the letter books have been a huge help with learning about these letters! We use them during whole group to get more familiar with that letter. The visuals really help my young students remember the information and make it more relevant for them. The visuals (and songs on the pocket chart) also really help my English Language Learners and my students with special needs connect with the material more than they would if they just hear it. The sensory letter cards also help my students to remember the formation and what each letter looks like by involving more senses!

The letter bowling has been a ginormous hit during play time. They love setting the letters up, knocking them down and naming them. They even like to spell their names and then knock them down! What great practice! The construct a letter kit has also been a big hit during play time, as we adore anything that lets us hammer!!!

Thank you so much for your generosity. These items are making a difference not only now, but for years to come!”

    Ms. A Goley

  • Preschool Board Books

    Funded Aug 24, 2022

I want to personally thank you for making a difference in the lives of my students. I am a teacher of typically developing students, as well as students with special needs from the ages of 3-5. I use a combination of paperback and board books while I teach, but the longevity of the books really is impacted by the material in preschool. I will read paperback books during whole group, but I also want my students to have access to books throughout the day that they can explore independently. My students are still learning how to be gentle and take care of books, so board books are a life changer! I can have these books on our shelf and ALL of my students can explore them without worrying that they will be ripped, or that the paper may be chewed off.

This collection of books is AWESOME for us because we typically learn using a different theme every week. This collection of books makes it easy for me to plan for a week of families, ocean, farm, nursery rhymes, colors and shapes, and transportation...all things that we love! When my students are exposed to literature that is relevant and interesting to them, it creates a foundation of a lifelong love for reading and learning!

We have used these books for whole group read aloud time, practicing skills such as prediction, vocabulary development, detail recall, rhyming, letter and sound identification, etc. These books also help my students build confidence with reading! We talk about how you can read books even if you cannot yet read the words. We can read books by looking at what's happening in the pictures, and we can read them by recalling what happened from the last time it was read to us.

Thank you so much for your generosity! You are making a difference in the lives of our youth!”

  • Preschool Letter Tubs

    Funded May 6, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity. This Donors Choose project consisted of a set of letter tubs. There is a mini tub for each letter of the alphabet and inside there are uppercase and lowercase foam letters, as well as several little figurines of items that begin with that letter. There are stickers that go on the top of the containers that label them and make an individual letter easy to find in the group. They also have a sticker that goes on the inside of the tub that makes it easy to know which figurines go where, and if you are missing any.

We are using these tubs each week. Our classroom lesson plans consist of a letter a week at the beginning of the year to really focus on exposure and practice with each letter individually. These tubs have been a great teaching/learning resource for our letter of the week! We go through the tubs as a whole group during circle time, look at all of the contents, and repeat the words.

This not only helps my friends be introduced and have exposure to the letters and the sounds that they make, but it also helps with their language exposure and practice! Some of the contents are things that my students may have never come into contact with in their lives or they do not know what the item is called. They also are really enjoying the mystery of the boxes! "What will come out next!" They get very excited for what is inside and usually are able to shout it out before I tell them the word to repeat!

I want to thank you again for making this ongoing experience possible for my current students and many, many more to come! You are helping to create litter learners that love to read!”

  • Diversity Literature

    Funded Dec 3, 2021

Thank you so much for your donation. Due to your generosity, we were able to bring new literature into our classroom to spark a lifelong love for learning in these little hearts. This collection of books represents a huge amount of diversity for my students to be able to learn about and see possibly for the first time. My students may be able to see a character that looks like them for the first time in one of these books. My students are also able to learn about different celebrations and cultures due to these books. They are allowing me to facilitate conversations that help raise a generation of accepting and loving individuals.

    Thank you.”

  • Preschool Science

    Funded Jan 14, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity! Due to you donating to our classroom, my students are able to explore their surroundings like scientists! My students are loving the binoculars. They get so excited walking around and saying things are big and small! The flashlights are fantastic for my friends in my developmental class especially because they love to turn the lights off and point them at different things in the room to explore their surroundings in a new way! The insects are probably their favorite things! We have used them MANY times with magnifying glasses, and in fact, they are in our sensory table right now! And last but not least, the sensory tubes are fantastic for helping my friends regulate their emotions to be able to focus and calm their bodies down.

Thank you so much for your generosity!”

  • Activity Chair

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

Thank you so much for your donations. The ability to purchase this activity chair has drastically impacted my classroom and my students' ability to learn. Currently, I have one student that uses this chair every day during whole group time. Prior to having this chair, this student was not able to sit and stay at whole group to be able to take in any of the information. Now, because of your generosity, this student comes over and sits in the chair waiting for the tray to be put on (he loves it). He is able to sit during the entire whole group time, watches what we are doing, smiles and participates!

Thank you so much for impacting this child's life, the rest of my class, me, and future students to come!”

  • Financial Literacy

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

My students are LOVING our new math materials. They are fans of everything small and manipulative. We have only had the materials for a short time and they have already gotten so much use!

We have been using our pattern blocks to talk about shape characteristics and make bigger holiday pictures. Our pictures on our design cards also help us understand that shapes make up everything in our world! Spilling (like our double sided counters), screwing and unscrewing, and linking things together are all fun things for us to do that strengthen the muscles in our hands! They help us with self help skills like zipping our coats and opening milk cartons! They also help develop our muscles so that we can hold crayons and pencils to become great writers!

Thank you so much for your contributions. I am so thankful to have a community supporting my little learners so that they can be as successful as possible and LOVE school!”

My students need support during tabletop tasks to help with learning. The students will use this chair with a tray to work on specific tasks and activities during work time. My students struggle with knowing where they are in space, focusing their attention on one task, and completing activities during group work. The chair and tray provide supportive, comfortable seating so children can concentrate on the task at hand. These specific chairs are the right height for preschoolers, allowing children to sit with their feet flat on the floor. The tray is able to be removed and sanitized throughout the school day and task.
