Students will design a sculpture, depending on their level, then make a painting and a sculpture from their drawings. once the clay is fired, they will paint or glaze them and make a background for the sculpture to look like its part of its intended environment. 3rd grade designs a traveling school and how and where it might travel. Older grades design a pinch pot critter. 5th grade work on perspective and makes a landscape then their sculpture can be part of a scene using foreground, background and middle ground concepts.
