The class set of books will allow my students to interact with literature that is culturally relevant and different than the cannon. The text also exposes my students to a full book written in verse in hopes that it will spark an appreciation for poetry. The other materials will help create a learning space that my students will feel comfortable being themselves. The décor also aims to promote a culture of college and other post secondary opportunities so students believe they have the potential to attend the college of their choosing. . The classroom materials will ensure that my students have all the materials they need to be successful and creative in my course.
