"Failure Is Success In Progress"
Funded Dec 12, 2022Students are using Botley and his accessories to help review and reinforce coding concepts that were taught in the first semester of school. In this lesson students were required to work in groups of 3-4 to help develop communication skills and encourage team work. The objective of the lesson was to create a course/challenge for Botley and help him successfully navigate through it using the knowledge they have in regards to our coding concepts.
When I presented the materials to my students they were ecstatic! They watched a video on a few of Botley's features, I explained rules to follow while using Botley and they were eager to get started coding him. After the lesson, they asked if they could do this activity again next class.
I am extremely thankful for Botley. He is a great tool to use for an unplugged coding activity. Students spend so much time on computers. I love that when they come to my class they can get off the screens and experience hands on and stimulating activities related to the content of the class. My goal is to utilize Botley in Arts Integrated projects with Core Content teachers!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Orr
