Due to COVID-19, there has been an increase in social-emotional needs of students. As many students struggle with anxiety and feeling overwhelmed, I hope to create a safe space for students to find a sense of calm. By adding fidget supplies, calming lamps, and therapeutic tools, I can better assist my students in de-escalation practices. I want to help students feel seen, heard, and appreciated. Through the use of the Cricut and supplies, I aim to create individualized incentives and tokens of appreciation for students. By acknowledging students in a personal manner, I hope to change the climate of the school to one more welcoming, positive, and hopeful.
