As a school, we are trying to come together, due to online learning last year, going to school is different for these students. Our school is in a low economic status community and we do not get a lot, so receiving these items will motivate them to do better to earn the prizes to encourage a more positive environment for learning. Social-Emotional Learning, Self Management, 2.C Demonstrate ability to set and achieve goals. Social-Emotional Learning, Social Awareness, 3.B. Demonstrate an awareness of cultural factors and respect for individual differences. Social-Emotional Learning, Responsible Decision Making, 5.E. Positively contribute to one's community. We have students who show up late to school on a daily basis. We are doing a no tardy party each month for our students who show up on time every day. At the party, there will be a raffle with the items that I have selected. The items we are requesting will be used as raffle prizes to support our social-emotional learning, social awareness, 3.B. Each grade level will have a winner to earn a prize. The National Geographic slime kit will bring a science aspect to learning and playing when dealing with different rock types. Then the National Geographic Marble run will activate their STEM learning and brainstorming ideas and also learning about building. The soccer ball will motivate the students to go outside and play, because of Covid they have been inside and we want to motivate a healthy lifestyle. The Dog Man series will promote the practice of reading, understanding the text when they enjoy the series, and help with comprehension! The Pop Its will help out students stay calm and help release anxieties throughout the day!
