I am a School Based Counselor, and part of counseling is opening up and exploring feelings. Exploring feelings looks very different for kids than it does for adults. Many adults will use counseling sessions to talk things out, but many kids use counseling sessions to express themselves through play. A dollhouse will allow my students to get creative and show me what goes on in their lives in a healthy, age-appropriate way. As kids play, they reveal many thoughts and feelings through the relationships and situations they create in their play. Kids and teens need to feel good in the space they are in, which is why this tapestry and rug will be important additions to my counseling room. Thank you for supporting these students; they deserve a time and comfortable space that is just for them.
