Xylophone Extraordinaire
Funded Oct 5, 2022Thank you so much for our new xylophones. These extra instruments have helped tremendously give more students playing time and helped with classroom management.
Our second graders will be preparing for a concert soon. Thanks to your generous donations I can give more students the opportunity to be a xylophone player for their class song on the concert.
The greatest joy I get is from watching them create new melodies and work together to bring their music to life. Thank you so much for all your help and continued support.”

Funded Sep 7, 2022Thank you once again for helping out the students of De Chaumes Elementary. Thanks to your generous donations we were able to start our first Recorder Club. The students did their first performance at the Third Grade Winter Concert. The entire third grade will start the process of learning recorder this semester. The kids are very excited. I am excited to give them more opportunities to work individually and as small and large ensembles on recorder music. We now have another option to apply our knowledge of rhythm and note names. With the extra recorders from this purchase I am hoping to start earlier next year.”

Funded Feb 26, 2022Thank you so much for helping me and the students of De Chaumes Elementary grow our music program. Students have enjoyed learning about beat, rhythm, and pitch in class. Soon we will start using our Ukuleles in fourth grade. Our younger students have been using the drums and keeping beat. Watching these kids grow over the last three years has been such a joy and blessing. Seeing them try to figure out different songs on their own and create on our Quaver curriculum has been so exciting. Thank you so much for all your help.”

Boom Goes the Drum
Funded Dec 31, 2021Once again i want to thank you for helping the students of De Chaumes Elementary School with our project Boom Hoes the Drum. Students have been excited to play actual hand drum and tubano. Before this project came to life we did a lot of body percussion, used the desk and floor to practice rhythm and drumming. Now with these instruments I can teach proper techniques, dynamics, rhythm, and so much more. The smile and excitement on their faces means so much. Thank you for all of your help and support.”

Recorder Music
Funded Nov 10, 2021Thank you you so much for helping my students get recorders. My third graders are the first group to start the process of learning recorders. The best thing about each group is watching their excitement when they do well and seeing them
encourage each other.
My students are progressing at a steady pace. My Thursday and Friday classes have already moved to the next step which is learning how to play second space a on the recorder. My Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday groups are practicing how to articulate and play different basic rhythms.”
