Since returning to full in-person learning after disruptions due to COVID-19, student behavior and academic engagement have been major issues at our school. While we are back to in-person learning, many students continue to be excluded on a regular basis due to COVID-19. Our project is to grow plants in the classroom with the goal of bringing real-world examples into the classroom, modeling positive strategies for dealing with anxiety, and increasing student engagement. Students will grow plants, measure their growth based on a hypothesis, and graph the data. Also included in these supplies are games and activities to support differentiated learning and increase student engagement on a day-to-day basis. This project will be tracked on a digital platform so it can be shared with students excluded from the classroom as well. This project is aimed at being cross-curricular in coordination with our science department. Common Core Standards include: - 8.EE.A.4 -8.EE.B.5 -8.EE.C.7 -8.F.A.2 -8.F.A.3 -8.F.B.4
