These centers and white boards will be used daily in our classroom to help students learn the most important of kindergarten skills. The white boards will be used in small group and whole group lessons to practice solving math problems and to practice letter names, sounds and spelling CVC words and sight words. The various puzzles and instant centers will be rotated throughout table groups for students to engage in meaningful practice of our math and reading foundational skills. The math centers will help students practice one to one correspondence, number recognition and addition/subtraction problems. The reading puzzles and centers will help students practice letter names, identifying beginning sounds, middle sounds, and final sounds. The centers also help with sight word practice and blending/spelling CVC words. All of these puzzles and centers will help my students practice the skills they need to be successful in fun and engaging ways. These standards are the foundations of reading and math that all students will need to be successful not only in kindergarten, but into adulthood as well.
