  • Computers for Reading

    Funded Mar 2, 2024

Thank you for the computers. We will be using them to access our remedial reding program and for students to expend their learning. My hope is that students not meeting standards will make growth toward standards. In addition, I want to extend the learning for students meeting or exceeding standards.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Du Chateau

  • See the World

    Funded Nov 7, 2021

    February 2, 2022

    Dear Donors,

Thank you for supporting your class with your generous donation. The purpose of the large television and document camera was to increase the children's knowledge of science and social studies content by having access to more and varied resources. This has happened for our class in our study of civil rights pioneers, where students were able to access books and videos that explained the content learning. In science the students were able to see demonstrations and models of the water cycle which helped them to understand how water is in motion around us.

Another area that was a focus was in writing. Our class used the document camera and television to model writing and to support students with editing their writing. Our class was able to display student examples and give feedback in order to improve writing. The children especially enjoy sharing their writing with the class. This allows the children to build writing skills, speaking and listening skills, and interpersonal communication skills.

An outcome not expected but very much welcomed was my ability to access and present content to students more effectively and efficiently. This gave me the ability to present and teach more in the limited time of a school day.

    Thank you,

    Scott Du Chateau
