My students learn about basic automotive maintenance. They study everything from simple tire rotations to more advanced tasks such as setting engine timing. In order to be successful they need supplies like drain pans as well as cleaning supplies. The requested resources can be multiple times during the school year and for multiple standards. The requested resources will be used during lab activities for the following standards and many others: 3.3.1 Inspect and test coolant; drain and recover coolant; flush and refill cooling system; fluid type per manufacturer specification 3.3.2 Perform oil and filter change 4.2.2 Drain and replace transmission fluid and filter(s); use proper fluid type per manufacturer specifications 5.1.4 Drain and refill manual transmission/transaxle and final drive unit; use proper fluid type per manufacturer specification 5.4.3 Drain and fill differential housing; use proper fluid per manufacturer specification 6.2.4 Flush, fill, and bleed power steering system; use proper fluid type per manufacturer specification 7.2.6 Bleed and/or flush brake system 8.1.5 Demonstrate proper use of a digital multimeter (DMM) when measuring source voltage, voltage drop (including grounds), current flow, and resistance 8.1.11 Repair and/or replace connectors, terminal ends, and wiring of electrical/electronic systems (including solder repairs) 8.2.4 Perform battery state-of-charge test; determine necessary action
