  • Open Air Reading Room

    Funded Nov 5, 2024

Thank you so much for your support of our students’ mental health!

This project will also support independent reading, photography classes, and students studying film.

I love the idea of expanding the idea of what a library can be and your support has directly helped us create a brand new, outdoor space that I have dreamed about for years!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Knowlton

  • Lights, Camera, Action!

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you for supporting our school's aspiring photographers and artists!

We are excited to install the green screen and light box and promote it to all teachers and students who have creative ideas about using these tools in the school library.

Visual literacy is such a key component of so many of our school's classes and majors, so thanks again for supporting a project that will allow us to explore photography and learning in new ways!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Knowlton

  • Library Arcade

    Funded May 10, 2023

Thank you for supporting Library Arcade!

Due to your generosity, our students have gain access to creative, independent games such as Dredge, Inscryption, and Cozy Grove as part of our Game Club series entitled "Cozy Dread". These are spooky titles that are also relaxing and even silly.

We want all of the students who enter our library to be surprised, delighted, and inspired by the artistry and diversity that games offer and our project Library Arcade has accomplished just that.

Thanks again and we can wait to share even more wonderful games in the new year!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Knowlton

  • Game Club Reboot!

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your support of our Game Club! It has added a whole new dimension of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) to playing games together.

Students at our school have loved the social aspect of multiplayer games, such as Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Octodad, and Overcooked 2. These cooperative games require players to work together to defeat aliens and overcome challenges, be a good dad to your kids while secretly being an octopus, and cook delicious meals, respectively.

We have also been able to use our new equipment to support initiatives such as Summer Reading (giving students the opportunity to play and download Tell Me Why for free as well as take home brand new books) and Icebreakers for the First Days of School in which students could meet new classmates while playing the fun, cooperative archery game Towerfall: Ascension.

Lastly, through your generous donation, we were also able to launch a six-week eSports program where students could explore NBA2K and Rocket League and build their skills, confidence, and communication as a team.

Thanks again for your contribution to Game Club and we look forward to utilizing this hardware in more amazing programs this school year!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Knowlton

Students love games. However, as educators, it is essential for us to encourage students to develop the vocabulary and concepts to be able to think and discuss games critically. If they are able to analyze games in terms of design and representation, they will be able to apply this literacy to English, Social Studies, and other curricular subjects. This gaming laptop and controllers will allow our students to play single and multiplayer games from all over the world; developing their transmedia literacy and social emotional learning skills through a shared love of games. Game Club at our school is a vibrant, inclusive space. Help us to reach even more students and to share newer, multiplayer games made by independent and diverse creators.
