Students spend many hours a day sitting in chairs at desks. I currently have a few flexible seating options and the students are constantly using them! Many love to sprawl out on the floor to read, which is why one of my items would be a large floor rug to make the cold, tile floor more comfortable. To make reading more enjoyable and rewarding, I would love to be able to offer a variety of other non-traditional seating options as well. Students love having a choice of where they would like to work, and this helps them to stay engaged with the task at hand. If you choose to help fund this project, you will be providing my students with the opportunity to work at a different location, which I have already noticed increases the effort that they give. In addition to flexible seating options, I would like to have additional flashlights to provide the opportunity to make reading more fun. Nothing is better on a rainy day than soaking up a good book in a comfy spot in the dark with a flashlight. Thanks in advance for considering donating to our students!
