Peer Helpers: Be the Good..Show the Way..Lend a Hand!
Funded Dec 8, 2021Thank you for taking time to make a difference in our school and our students here at Frankton Junior Senior High School. Words are not enough to just say thank you for your support of our Peer Helper program at FJSHS. We have been sharing positive mental health awareness and support to our peers through your gift donations. We have been meeting with students one-on-one and in small groups; during this time, we utilize our gifts. We have used our squishies and play dough for helping us when we are communicating and dealing with stressful life situations. We play with our new games and get to know each other better. Peer Helpers have also hosted two school-wide events during lunch. We have had a Positive Mental Health Awareness Day and a Random Acts of Kindness Day. During these days, we gave away stickers, bracelets, play dough, journals, and treats to other students in our school for free. Thank you for helping us accomplish our goal of showing and sharing kindness with others.
When we first received the materials, the students acted like Santa had just arrived for the first time on Christmas. Each student helped unbox, organize, and discover our new materials. We had a "DonorsChose" grant opening day. I enjoyed seeing how excited students were to share our new materials with the rest of the student body.
Our next plan is to have a "Spring Fever" positive mental health fair. We are hoping to
pair up with the health club and make this a schoolwide event for everyone. We sincerely cannot thank you enough for supporting Frankton Peer Helpers. Being kind, reaching out, caring, giving, helping, and being there for others in need are still our top priorities.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Blake
