Thank you for supporting our school and our students. We are looking forward to implementing this project with our incoming 5th grade students. We hope to make an impact as we create PSAs and other multimedia projects which align with our school’s magnet theme. We hope to use these materials together for many years to come.”

  • Ready to Read in 4th!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you for making it possible for my students to be able to have access to their leveled books both at school and at home. In our classroom, students choose 3-4 books each week to read during independent reading time at school and at home. Students are able to access our library of books and can choose the texts that interest them the most. Up until we received your generous donations, students were using plastic baggies to carry their books. Not only was this wasteful (books are sharp, plastic baggies are thin, we had made tears and large holes in the baggies), it was difficult for students to carry larger books and at times, their books would fall out all over the floor.

Now that students have access to their baggies, it is clear that their choices earlier in the year were based solely on whether a book would fit in their plastic baggie! We are now able to carry larger books, thicker books, heavier books back and forth! Students are thrilled with all of their options.

Please know that your donation has made a difference in the lives of my 2022-2023 students and will continue to make a difference for years to come with these reusable and heavy duty book baggies!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fisher

  • We Got the Write Stuff

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you for helping to fund our handwriting project! The impact in the classroom was seen almost immediately. Students were genuinely excited to be able to learn a new skill such as cursive writing! As a surprise, the handwriting books were placed on student desks for them to see when they arrived in the morning. Without hesitation, they opened the books to get to work!

As a class, we spent time going over the ways cursive and print are similar and how they are different. Students struggled at first to keep their pencils on the paper as they formed words, but tried their best and quickly changed course. As part of our morning routine, students take out their books and begin working on their cursive writing.

After a few months with the books, many students are feeling confident enough to begin writing their names and daily questions in cursive. I am so proud of what they have accomplished and look forward to the growth yet to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fisher

My 5th grade students have spent the last 18 months typing during virtual learning. These cursive handwriting books will help them strengthen their handwriting and learn a new skill. My students are always asking about cursive handwriting and are excited to write on their own. Students will be able to practice and apply what they have learned in their everyday writing. This is a skill that is no longer part of the daily curriculum and knowing my students are excited to engage in this type of learning makes it even more important for them to have the materials they need to learn.
