Early access to sensory tools help students learn how to self-regulate and monitor their own energy and emotions making them better students in all academic areas. As an elementary school counselor, I find that my students benefit most from having a counseling experience that integrates meeting their sensory needs as well. Please help my students access the external tools they need to build strong internal structures for self-regulation and coping skills. The floor mat will be placed under the sensory swing I have in my room and can be moved when we need to practice floor exercises such as Yoga and meditation. The punching bag and gloves will be tools for teaching young children how to release stress, anger, and frustration in a safe, healthy and respectful way.
