  • SHSAT Prep Books for Students

    Funded Jan 13, 2025

Thank you for these prep books for my students! We currently use them as a supplement to current instruction to prepare students for the SHSAT exam! I wanted students to be exposed to this sort of material to end the mysticism of the test and hopefully have more of them take it.

These books are a good guide at building students confidence as well. As I teach bright and thoughtful students, sometimes they don't believe so. But the opportunity to work in small groups with this material and work through problems has been something that has helped my students succeed and believe in themselves. I appreciate you always!”

  • Classroom Manga Books for Middle Schoolers

    Funded Jan 13, 2025

This donation has helped students engage more with literacy in my classroom. They were so excited to see the books displayed in the library and were immediately asking to borrow them. In turn, this has fostered genuine positive discussions in my room about the books, their plot and predictions for future books.

This donation is a culturally responsive example of meeting students where they're at. Originally, my library, although full with books, was a scarce resource to kids. Now, they pursue through the manga section but also tend to look at what else is available. This is a good in for students to feel more comfortable with books and for this I am so grateful!”

  • Printer Paper for Student Learning

    Funded Oct 30, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to support the resources of printer paper use in my classroom. This has been used as a way for students to receive differentiated support on assignments and as a tactile approach to learning. My students were thrilled to see the boxes and boxes of printer paper for our classroom but a frequent question I received after was "Why doesn't our school provide you with enough paper?" I shared this question with my students, as I filled out my project proposal for the paper, hoping it will come soon enough to use ASAP before the dwindling supplies ran out. Whatever that reason was, unknown to us, we were still able to continue our routines and structures as normal.

We are currently finishing up a unit with The Omnivore's Dilemma and going to start The House on Mango Street just next week. With your donations, students will write op-ed's on junk food then transition into poetry prose writing. The printer paper has allowed them to write in different formats with the amount of scaffolding they need to be successful, as seen from the images also shared here.

Thank you again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

  • Fidget Toys and Graphic Novels to Engage Students

    Funded Oct 24, 2024

Thank you so much for your donations again! With the graphic novels, they have been an awesome addition to the classroom library! Students love the graphics and different designs and stories that these books offer. It adds to the enjoyment of independent reading time in my classroom, where students are allowed to look through my library and pick books they'd like to read. It is so nice to see students enjoying their work, without the stress of grades and report cards.

Also, the fidget spinners and stickers have been a huge support with more hyperactive students. I have passed out spinners to kids to use outside the class and also have placed the stickers in students notebooks to use if they need help recentering and focusing during a lesson. They are so shocked when they are able to receive things to help them learn.

My students and I thank you for your donations!”

  • Printer Toner Needed ASAP!

    Funded Oct 8, 2024

Since receiving the much needed toner for my in classroom printer, I have been able to provide students with access to different charts, worksheets, and readings (as seen in the photos shared). This is helping my students engage with their learning and have access to basic needs such as printed materials.

My students love how they can read the words on the page now with fully loaded toner. They don't struggle to identify where they need to be working or how this sheet is most helpful to them.

Again, I appreciate your donations, my classroom is able to run smoothly and effectively because of people like you! My students and I thank you.”

    With gratitude,
