Kindergarten: The Foundation To Becoming An Avid Reader!

Funded Nov 8, 2021

Thank you so much for allowing me to give my students more materials to help with their academic success. Thanks to your donations we were able to purchase a color printer, cardstock paper and markers for our class. This is very important because in kindergarten students focus on learning sight words. They are required to know 50 words by sight by the end of Kindergarten and thanks to the resources provided we were able to make multiple sets of flash cards to practice at school and at home. My students are now learning 60-70 sight words which is past our standard. They love having the flash cards and the markers to write and practice their sight words not just at school but home as well. Having the flash cards has made it easier on some of my parents as well. They are able to practice with their child with less stress and the process is faster with being able to simply flash them a card throughout the day. This has made a huge impact on their learning.

My students love having their colorful sight words and being able to take them out to create sentences of their own. It has definitely made their learning to read and write more engaging and all around fun for them to be independent learners.”

With gratitude,

Ms. Peterson
