I will use these books to allow students to work in small book clubs and explore important identity and societal issues. They get to choose the book that most stands out to them from a list of 5-6 options, and then they will work in groups of 4-6 to read and analyze the texts, as well as apply them to the real world. It is critical for teenage students to be prepared to enter the diverse world that we live in. I hope to help them think critically, see the world through new eyes and tackle big issues through the power of reading. I also hope to help them fall in love with reading! The right book can change everything for a teenager.
