Learning Is Fun!
Funded Nov 30, 2022Thank you all so very much for your generous donations towards our speech therapy room's project. I really appreciate it and I know my students are going to be super excited when they see what's in store for them. We've been ready to try some fun new activities in speech and you have made it possible. Again, thank you all so much!”

This classroom project was brought to life by an Anonymous Classroom Supporter and 6 other donors.Everyone Needs a Voice: Technology HELPs!
Funded Dec 9, 2021Technology can never replace skilled evaluation and intervention by a Speech-Language Pathologist however, it most certainly can enhance learning during therapy sessions especially for an ever changing and evolving generation.
My students and I have been so excited and happy to implement the iPad more throughout our therapy sessions. Sometimes students get tired, just as clinicians do, of flashcards, paper based activities, and the same routine. Bringing out the iPad changed things up a bit. The students were even more excited and intrigued. Their faces lit up with huge smiles even though the activity was a simple flashcard app. The delivery was different and that is what made the difference.
Our speech room iPad will also be used in treatment to help improve speech sound production and motor speech planning. The students will get to see and hear training videos and visuals for practice. I will also be using simple flashcard based apps that teach different concepts and have great images that can be applied to a number of articulation, fluency, and language lessons. Reading and listening comprehension, problem solving, vocabulary and so much more speech and/ or language based instruction will be addressed through the use of our new iPad. Let me not forget, the students will also be rewarded with a little game time and they're always excited about game time!
I could go on and on, but I would just like to again say thank you all so much for contributing and giving so generously to my project. It has been well worth it. We appreciate you.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Goings
