My students use technology as an integral part of their daily lessons. During these lessons there are often audio components where students will view and listen to videos that aid in their understanding of a topic or provide necessary background information. Having a class set of headphones will allow students to listen to audio at their own pace, while giving them the option to listen to materials multiple times when needed. Providing these headphones will also allow my students that have reading challenges to use "read-aloud" as an option when completing certain assignments because they will be able to listen to the material. My students will benefit academically from having headphones to help them be engaged in their lessons, and they will benefit emotionally by having a positive environment. Many of my students have had struggles with academics and behavior, so surrounding them with positivity is particularly important. Having inspirational posters around the classroom will help create the positive environment that my students need. Especially in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, I know that my students need a positive place to learn and thrive.
