  • World History and Projects Students Create

    Thank you for the supplies for my classroom! Students have recently completed two projects with the supplies! When we returned from Christmas break, students conducted research on a country of their choice and found information that they put on the poster paper that was donated from Donors Chose! Students then shared their countries with classmates in a round robin, and then we displayed some of the posters in our classroom and some in the halls for not only my students to see, but the students on campus. They look amazing! I have had many staff and students comment on the assignment and one of the other World History teachers is going to use the same project in his classroom! So impactful!

    For our next unit, we studies Revolutions and students completed projects on the pre-revolution, the breaking point and then the post revolutions focusing on the economic, social and political aspects. Students completed poster presentations that they shared with the class as a whole. They used the markers, pens, colored pencils, pencil sharpeners, and poster paper that you supplied for our classroom!

    We've used the highlighters on our recent assignments looking at a DBQ (document based question,) and it was really nice to have supplies for my students to use! All of the supplied that have been donated have been put to good use! We appreciate your generosity!”

We do hands-on learning and projects in my classroom throughout the year. Some of the projects students will continue working on is group presentations. They create presentations in small groups and then present to their peers. This is an excellent strategy for students to learn how to collaborate, present, organize, and to learn public speaking. While students learn the content, they also use skills they will use beyond the class room setting. I have requested headphones, glue sticks, Post-its, pencils, highlighters, and disinfecting wipes. These supplies will be an addition to the depleted supplies I’ve already purchased this year for my students. Thank you!
