Students have had a tough transition to school. What I notice the most is that it can be difficult to keep students engaged. School has not been in it’s traditional form for two years now. To increase engagement, I want to incorporate the use of the iPad when I’m teaching and also for students to use during group/independent work. Having an iPad allows me to bring our lessons to life. I will be able to improve presentations. I will be able to walk around whilst modeling how to write in our notebooks. With a camera, I will be able to poll students and check for their understanding (using plickers). I can snap pictures of student work, annotate it, and immediately upload it to their portfolio for families to engage with. Students will be able to record their thinking and do presentations using the camera or screen recording feature. The possibilities are endless!
