Many of my students, due to home life or lack of, need additional support in accessing the curriculum and often times do not have a way to use technology at home or transport it back and forth. The two laptops are for back ups in the classroom that will allow students to access the lessons of the day. I would like to be able to let my students have access to them while being able to work with me. I am often pulled in many directions at once and need to use other tools to make sure that my students are able to achieve the goal of the day. When I cannot be there to assist some of my students with their writing projects, they can use computers to type their work or they can dictate their thoughts to a program that will type for them. When some are struggling to understand a math concept, they can watch videos about it on Virtual Nerd, Khan Academy, and Brain Pop and then practice their work through Canvas. The projector will allow the students to see the clear videos or presentations in class and not have to strain their eyes as much. The color printer allows for a contrast on paper, allowing me to have important words highlighted to stand out. Technology will never be a substitute for teachers or staff members, but when I cannot be there to help my students understand concepts or complete class tasks, it can help the students be successful on their own.
